FAQs

  • Of course not! Listen, I get it. Making art can be intimidating. But it also requires practice, and in order to practice, you have to just start. Mistakes will be made! That’s how you figure it all out. These art classes are a judgement-free zone; as I used to tell my students, “The first is the worst!”

  • Paint and Sips are fun, aren’t they? Mixtape classes are a little different, though. These classes are for you to express your own ideas, your own interests, your unique self. I will be showing you how to use the materials and tools, and you will make your own art.

  • We can work through it! What are some things you feel passionate about? Do you like to hike or garden? Do you have a favorite animal? Do you have pets? Do you like to read? What kinds of books or movies do you like? What’s your favorite food? And if you can’t think of answers for yourself, you can always make something to gift. What does that person feel passionate about?

  • I’ve taught a lot of classes and workshops where one idea leads to another idea and before you know it, time is up but you’re not ready to stop working. That’s okay! Toward the end of class you will be given the opportunity to add on (up to) an hour of more studio time for $10. Payments can be made via Paypal or Venmo.

  • Is your kid 10 or 11 but responsible with tools? Is your kid under 12 but they’ve been in my art classes before? Use the contact form on this website to send me an email.

  • Absolutely! These classes are a work-in-progress, so please let me know what you’re interested in.

  • Probably! Let me know what you’d like to do. These classes are ever-evolving and this is a collaborative art studio.

  • If you need to cancel your reservation, I can refund your money until 24 hours before the class.

  • All students will be let into the library by Ruth or an assistant. Due to needing to bring all supplies with us for each class, we cannot accommodate drop-ins.

  • Mixtape Workshop classes are held at the Bloomsburg Public Library. Street parking is free on Sundays. Someone will let students in to the building from 1:10pm-1:25pm.

  • We will provide materials and tools for you to use. If you have a sketchbook, favorite pencils, or reference photos for an idea you’d like to try, bring them!
