October 5: Cyanotype Photography

$35.00

Come learn how to make one of the first kinds of photography, cyanotypes! Invented in 1842 by Sir John Hershel and unchanged to the present day, we will be using a combination of chemicals that become light-sensitive when combined and create beautiful Prussian blue images. I will bring a selection of natural objects, such as leaves, flowers, and feathers, but feel free to bring some of your own, as well. We will also be experimenting with different kinds of paper and fabric. If it’s sunny, we will be able to expose our prints outside; if it’s cloudy we will use a special UV light.

Please wear an apron or studio-appropriate clothes.
